To model an adjacent building in equest, start in the building shell, and select “create building shade” by right clicking the building shades folder, or the project name.
Give the item an appropriate name, in this case, adjacent building
Enter the dimensions of the building shade. Remember that the shade consists of a simple rectangle. Click done and eQUEST will prompt you with the remaining inputs.
Here, a user must enter the coordinates of the shading element. Keep in mind that the coordinates correspond to the lower left corner of the shading element, as viewed from the OUTSIDE of the shading building, located here.
eQUEST displays shading components in the 3d view. Therefore, it is a good idea to start in the 3d view when editing a building shade, as equest displays the inputs interactively.
Don’t forget to enter the rest of the parameters as necessary. A fixed shade contains the same setup, but does not rotate with the building if a user decides to apply building rotation.
