As discussed before, users cannot access the EEM wizard from detailed mode. Instead, users must choose Parametric runs - or the detailed equivalent of the EEM wizard. Parametric runs accomplish the same goals the the EEM wizard: they allow a user to modify existing runs for results comparison. In the current version of eQUEST, users may even compare runs in different files.
To access parametric runs, select the tools menu and Parametric Runs.
Save the file if prompted and access the parametric runs screen
Here, users have the option to make substitutions in the existing file. In the current version of eQUEST, users may even compare runs in different files.
To set up a parametric run:
Click “Create Parametric run” and give the run an appropriate name. In this example, we will substitute the uvalues and thus indicate such in the run description
Select the appropriate base run, in this case we leave the default
Click Create Parametric Component
Select Construction as the category
and select u-value as the keyword, then we will enter a value of .05 for the new u-value.
At this point, a user may add additional parameters if necessary or click done and return to the building input.
To run the file, select the Tools menu and perform simulation, making sure to select the desired runs to calculate. and click simulate to get the results as discussed earlier.
