Footprint is looking to grow our team in the Toronto office with the addition of an Energy Modeler. At Footprint, we draw extensively upon our background as engineers to provide the in-depth analysis and technical rigor that today's projects demand. We have benefited from our experience on a diverse range of projects - many of which are leading examples of sustainable design.
Here are some of the more detailed responsibilities you can expect in this position:
* Perform detailed building energy modelling using applicable software such as eQuest, IES, Energy Plus, etc.
* Review and interpret architectural, mechanical and electrical design drawings.
* Provide design guidance and assistance to project designers on design solutions affecting building energy consumption.
* Collaborate with architects, mechanical and electrical engineers to assess the commercial viability of various energy strategies and systems.
* Perform take off calculations for all building elements and parameters required for energy modelling.
* Develop proposed and referenced case energy models as per modelling procedures and rules from applicable reference guidelines, standards, and codes.
* Perform engineering calculations to support modelling results.
* Evaluate and analyze various building energy measures by performing iterative modelling.
* Provide design recommendations to improve energy efficiency of building.
* Prepare modelling documentation and submittals as required by the project.
* Prepare detailed responses to energy model reviews and audits from various modelling authorities including municipalities, CaGBC, etc.
* Provide assistance in preparation of energy related submittals for LEED certification.
* Perform energy modeling and analysis for existing building energy reports and studies.
A few more qualifications which will help you with these responsibilities:
Candidate(s) should preferably:
* Be a LEED Accredited Professional
* Have an engineering degree. An architectural or building science degree shall also be considered.
* Have minimum 6 years of direct modeling experience
