Wizard interprets external wall as internal?

Hi Group,

Here?s one I haven?t run across before, I?m hoping one of you can give me a hint before I spend time prospecting through the files.

I?m in the design development wizard stage on a complicated building. So far, all has been well. Today, I created custom zones in a floor with the following anomalous result: The exterior wall of one perimeter zone (but none of the others) was converted by the wizard to an internal wall. I haven?t seen any way to select internal vs external for a wall type in the wizard, and I?m not ready to change modes to detailed data edit yet.

Explanatory pictures are attached. I can?t post my files until our client says it?s OK, which may take a while.

Anyway, we are pretty well-versed in tracking down problems but a hint of where to look first would be much appreciated. If it?s a simple fix that can be made in detailed edit mode or the text editor, that?s fine. It would be nice to know how it happened in the wizard, though...

Thanks tons,

Dave

The typical source of the problem is that one or both of the vertices of
that wall do not coincide close enough to with a vertex on the floor
polygon. I'd recommend that you go back to your custom floor polygon and
create a vertex along that straight wall, then go back into your custom
zones and make sure that the interface between the two zones are "snapped"
to the new point you created on the floor polygon. This is the most
surefire way to let eQUEST know that the wall is supposed to be exterior.

Dave,
The most obvious reason is that your snaps are not in place and/or your
line does not (though it looks like it does) follow a straight path.
Maybe dividing this line into a few more
segments might work.
