Question on LS-C report

Hello all,

I have a question regarding figures reported for ?OCCUPANTS TO SPACE? and
?INFILTRATION? in LS-C Building Peak Load Components report. When we
compare LS-C reports of a given project, should occupants load and
infiltration load of the baseline model be equal to the same loads of the
proposed model?

I would appreciate your comments,

Morteza,

The occupant and infiltration loads reported on LS-C do not have to match between baseline and proposed. Just make sure your number of occupants, infiltration rate, and schedules are the same. Total occupants is easy to compare using the LV-B report. The numbers on LS-C may not match between baseline and proposed, especially when the date/time of the peak cooling and heating loads are different.

Bill,

Thank you so much for your respond. Total number of occupants, schedules
and infiltration rates are the same for the base and the proposed model and
I was wondering if the related loads reported in LS-C should be also the
same.

It's likely that each buildings will have a different peak load which
occurs at a unique time during the year. If the loads do not occur at the
same hour, the occupancy load will likely be different, and outside air
conditions may vary such that your infiltration load will also be different.

I'd say it is unlikely that you should ever see the occupancy and
infiltration related loads in the LS-C be identical between a baseline and
a proposed model.
