FW: equest errors and settings

Everyone, we are still having errors on our troublesome PC running
eQuest. We tried Robby's suggestion of turning on the Windows XP Service
Pack 2 and the PC ran the eQuest model file several times successfully
and then stopped. Does anyone have any ideas? We are stumped. The eQuest
model file does run with eQuest 3.64 combined with Vista on other 64 bit
PCs in our office, so as far as I can tell, the model files are fine.

Thanks in advance.

This is very strange. We loaded a copy of the eQuest model and ran it on
the troublesome PC's C: drive and it worked! Stranger still, after we
ran that model successfully, we tried running the original model in its
original location using the troublesome PC and it suddenly worked! We
then tried to save the original model in its original location and then
got an access denied error message saying eQuest could not find an
unnamed file. We then did a Save As of the original model as a Rev1
model in the original location and it ran successfully and then Saved
properly.

So, I am beginning to think that somehow the office network operating
system (the original model's location) is somehow affecting eQuest, but
only on this PC, since this does problem does not happen to anyone else
in the office.

The upshot is we are going to run the eQuest model on the C: of our
troublesome PC for a while and see if it behaves.

Thanks everyone for their insight and if the PC starts having issues
using the C: drive as a storage location, I will be contacting everyone
again.

Kathryn,

It seems to me that you are not running eQuest in the correct "Compatibility Mode." Right click on your eQuest icon and select "Properties." Find the compatibility tab. Then, select your operating system. See attached for more information. Hope this helps.
