HVAC Systems

Hi all,

The building I'm currently modeling is served by various HVAC systems.

For example, I have a VAV system serving multiple floors. Do I model the
system once and start assigning the different zones to it.

What if a zone is being served by more than 1 system, say a VAV system
and underfloor heating system. Is it possible to assign more than one
system to a zone.

Please advise.

Many thanks,

Aswan

Hi Aswan,

When you start in the wizard, you can choose to model the system per
floor, per zone, per shell or per site. If only one system serves the
whole building, and you get otherwise when you switch to the detailed
interface, you can always move your zones to the parent system and
delete the redundant systems.

Equest does not let you model multiple systems to one zone. You can
only add a 'baseboard' as a your additional radiant heating source if
you need it.

Hope this helps.

Hi all,

I understand that eQuest does not allow multiple systems to be assigned
to a single zone.

Can you please explain how I can model the following:

A single zone with a VAV system proving comfort cooling and a chilled
desk cooling system providing main cooling.

Do I have to split the zone into two and assign a system to each zone.
If so how can this be done?

Many thanks for your help.
