Equest and high rise floors

Hello,

I'm modeling a 6 story building from plans. All floors are equal from the
rear. The first two floors come out 165' and have the same footprint. But
floors 3-6 come out 115'. The 6th floor has a 25'x30' uncovered patio. I
used the custom zoning pattern to create the layout of the footprint for
each floor. When I look at the 3D model, I see the outlines of the
different footprints for floors 3-6 correctly. But what should be an
exterior wall is showing as an interior adiabatic wall.

1. How do I get the program to treat these interior walls as an exterior
wall?
2. How do I get rid of the walls that followed floors 1 and 2 but are
non-existing for floors 3-6?

Mark:
Sounds like you used the SD Wizard. Save and Copy to a DD Wizard format (name it different). Then go to 3rd-6th floors and redraw the footprint to match those floors. Make sure your spaces match your footprints.
That should take care of BOTH the walls that aren't there and the interior walls to exterior walls.?

Using DD Wizard I modeled each floor as a separate zone and that helped.
The model correctly renders the footprint of each floor of the building,
but still treats exterior walls as interior walls and I can't change them.
I can't do it in the wizard or in the spreadsheet.

Are any of the walls both inside and out? Try drawing an extra zone to separate the sections, or if the walls should be correct as-is go into the text editor and make sure the vertices are exactly a match.

No, they are exterior walls. Here's the view on the building. The front
of the building faces south. Maybe these images will help.

Hi Mark,

This issue is probably due to vertex mismatch between footprint and thermal
zoning. Go again into the thermal zoning and redraw the zones with given
snap priority to CAD 1 and polygon 2.

Hope this helps.
