IES are excited to announce the release of VE2017. With over 25 brand new features and dozens of significant enhancements to other features, this is one of most robust updates to the VE in several months.
You can register for free new features webinars here: http://www.iesve.com/software/web-demo
Some of the new features include:
-Python scripting. Users can make custom reports, visualizations, wizards, and more. VE2017 comes pre-installed with over 70 sample scripts to get you started.
-HVAC room and zone load and sizing reports. Makes the integration between loads calculations and energy simulation tighter and significantly reduces the time it take to do both loads and energy simulation.
-Chiller curve library and visualization. Over 150 chillers and curves from multiple manufacturers built-in and visualized in 2 and 3 dimensions.
-Simulation manager. Keep working while loads and sizing calculations, energy simulations, daylight simulations, solar calculations run in the background. No need to wait for simulations to complete to keep working.
-Parallel simulations. Multiple core simulations have been expanded to significantly reduce calculation and simulation times throughout the VE.
-Integrated distance learning classes within the VE suite
-New parametric tools for enhanced parametric simulations
-New multi-variable optimization tool which uses a genetic algorithm to find optimal design solutions
-New HW loop sizing and simulation options with support for multiple secondary HW loops
