Hello! I am working in the energy modeling field since a year, and already completed detailed building performance analysis using the software IES-VE, to evaluate energy savings of proposed building design in comparison with the baseline model built in accordance with ASHRAE 90.1, appendix G performance rating method.
I am actually working on my first model using ASHRAE 90.2, and the prescriptive model doesn't look to me as straightforward as the baseline model in ASHRAE 90.1.
As far as I understood, the prescriptive model can be assumed to be a cube, having its walls in the 4 cardinal orientations, and in every orientation we have 1/4 of each type of walls and windows . The HVAC calculations of the prescriptive can be done manually acoording to the formulas given in the reference , and the HVAC calculations of the proposed are as is. It doesnt seem to me that I can benefit from the software to complete my model.
Any thoughts concerning the above?
