I'm working on the LEED energy model for a new school addition. Is it true that I will have to model the existing building and systems if the services for the new addition will tie into these? i.e. hot water, chilled water etc.
I' don't see where appendix G specifically addresses this, but my approach would be to use the efficiency of the existing equipment but use the capacity required for the addition.
The problem you may run into is that this approach would result in part-load performance that may not reflect what you actually have.
