DESCRIPTION

This webinar will show how DesignBuilder can be used to create quick early-stage models, and then how that same model can be developed through the project for use in detailed design and for performance rating schemes such as LEED and BREEAM. We will also provide an advance preview of new features coming this summer.

DesignBuilder is best known for providing an efficient easy-to-use interface to EnergyPlus, enabling you to quickly create building geometry or import it from other BIM tools and access powerful EnergyPlus features like detailed HVAC and the airflow network for natural ventilation modeling. Whilst that is true, this webinar will also show that there is much more to DesignBuilder than many people realise. A core model that can also be used for accurate load calculations, daylighting, CFD, optimisation and advanced cost-benefit analysis...all available directly within one fully-integrated interface that is easy to learn and use.

This webinar will show a simulation tool that empowers the modeler to choose the right level of accuracy at the right time in the evolution of your project.

Andy Tindale BSc PhD
Managing Director and joint founder of DesignBuilder Software with over 25 years simulation experience within academia, design consultancies and R&D groups. Passionate about removing unnecessary barriers to widespread adoption of the latest building simulation technology, Andy has recently been working on enhancing DesignBuilder's optimisation capability and adding significant modelling flexibility by implementing the EnergyPlus EMS in DesignBuilder's toolset.

Dave Cocking MSc CEng MCIBSE MASHRAE
Joined DesignBuilder Software as a Director in 2013, with 20 years varied experience in mechanical services and in more recent years the analysis of energy and comfort performance in buildings. A CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant and Certified Passivhaus Designer.
