DesignBuilder is offering two workshops in conjunction with the 2015 ASHRAE Energy Modeling conference in Atlanta on 28th and 29th September. The workshops will provide an introduction to the latest version of DesignBuilder, showing how you can improve the efficiency of your modeling workflow using DesignBuilder's interface to EnergyPlus and Radiance.
Day 1 will focus on simulation fundamentals and Day 2 will show how HVAC, natural ventilation and mixed-mode systems can be modeled simply at early stage and then transition to detailed modeling as the design matures. The content of each day is outlined below:
Day 1 - Efficient modeling workflow, solar shading, daylighting and load calculations using DesignBuilder EnergyPlus
* Quickly creating 3D geometry for simulations using EnergyPlus
* Efficient model data input for LEED
* Solar shading
* Integrated daylighting analysis using the DesignBuilder's interface to Radiance
* Heating and cooling load calculations
Day 2 - From simple early-stage HVAC to mixed-mode and detailed HVAC modeling using DesignBuilder EnergyPlus
* Simplified early-stage HVAC modeling
* Natural ventilation and mixed-mode modeling
* Detailed HVAC modeling for LEED
