Changing Multiple Spreadsheet Cells with Single New Value

I could not make the instructions below work. Could someone explain it in more detail?

Hey Varkie!

Good question – IIRC, this came up once in an earlier discussion sharing other time-saving input tips – might be worth a search in the archives.

Here’s a quick visual walk-through of user defaults:

1. Right-click a field in spreadsheet view:

2. Clicking ‘Edit/View User Default…’ brings you this dialog:

3. Click the 2nd radio button and set a new default value like so, and click ‘OK’:

4. Voila! All inputs for that field which are defaulted (not red) will change blue, to indicate a non-library default is being used. You can copy (ctrl+c) and paste (ctrl+v) green or blue cells to return defined (red) fields to default (green/blue/violet):
