Hi All: I'm doing some high-rise buildings in detail mode. And I found that
eQuest becomes kinda sluggish or not that responsive. Sometimes, the BDL
file can have more than 500,000 lines thus it takes more than 30min to
load. If I change a parameter, it also takes quite a while to update. My
computer is i7-2600k with 16GB in Windows 7 64bit. The CPU loading is just
around 25% - 30%. Does anyone know how to make it faster or more
responsive? Thanks.
Roger
Roger,
This may sound like a simple/dumb question, but are you defining every floor in the building or defining a "typical" floor and using the floor multiplier?
This could make a huge difference in the size of your model.

I've had a few projects that the .pdl file became corrupted and started
storing thousands of lines of code. The files were several MBs instead of
just a few KBs. Once I deleted the files the models would compile much
faster.
Can you post your model, I would like to compare the equest time
against running using DOE2.2 at the command line.

Hi, Has there been a follow up to this thread. I'd like to know if there's
been a resolution. I'm running a quad core processor as well. I've noticed
that the processing time will always run on one core (25%) as oppose to
using all four (100%)
