Dehumidification during winter

1 post / 0 new

Hello,

I am using eQuest to validate an excel program that calculates savings in an air handler. I have created a very simple 10,000 sq ft building in eQuest and am looking at the energy savings from reducing the outside air ventilation rate. I am getting some unusual dehumidification requirements during the winter.

First, I think it is strange that it is calling for dehumidification at all during the winter. Second, the heating coil jumps from around 50,000 btu/hr all the way up to 150,000 btu/hr within an hour when the system is dehumidifying. Is there something I'm missing here? Thanks for the assistance.

I can email the hourly report and the eQuest file to anyone that it interested in reviewing them. Thanks
