eQuest 3.64 Fan Power Calc

I just started working with eQuest, helping a co-worker and noticed that the calculation for Fan Power Demand (System Design Parameters Simulation report) appears to have omitted the efficiency factor per G 3.1.2.9, merely converts bhp to watts by multiplying bhp by 746. Is this just my imagination or did I identify a glitch in the program? How do we fix this or 'work around' the problem?

Try changing the efficieny and re-running and see if the numbers change.

Hi John,

I'd strongly encourage you to explore the mailing list archives.
There's a lot of detailed discussion there re: how to handle baseline
fan energy.

I think it's common practice between many seasoned eQuesters to specify
fan power via kW/CFM, using a spreadsheet outside of equest to calculate
the required values per 90.1, after the baseline sizing run to get your
capacities/design CFM's for each system.
