Building a model

Hello all,

I have difficulties creating building footprints.

The building has 25 stories with two different building footprints.

So the first three floors are parts of a podium space and the rest are just a tall building.

Could anyone pelase explain to me how to create different buildng footprints (different shells?)?

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Julie Shin

Hi Julie:

It is a relatively simple process.

First build your "podium" floors in the Schematic Wizard. Then switch the building from the Schematic to the Design Development (DD) Wizard. This Wizard allows you to develop different shell foot prints.

Copy a floor of you "podium" into a new floor (which will now be the 4th floor). You go to the Footprint Shape on Screen 2 of the Building Shell Component menu, choose Custom, and follow the prompts to get to the drawing mode. You can then move the Shell bunderies to the shape you want. You can then use floor multiplier or just call out the number of floors in this shell on Screen 1.

This should give you what you seek.
