Ice Rink example model

Everyone, I was following the archived ice rink thread and got enough
information to get stared on a requested ice rink energy model. In the
thread, Pasha mentioned he sent someone an old ice rink example energy
model. I was wondering if anybody knows where that old ice rink example
is and if they could send me a copy. Thanks.

Hi Kathryn,

Attached is the zip file of the Old ice rink example. I received this file
back in 2007 or 2008. This is an older version of eQuest and I don't know
how it will run in 3.64. If you have 3.63 on your machine I might suggest
opening it in there for now.

Also, the ice rink inputs in the current version of eQuest are only found in
DDedit mode under the "spreadsheet" tab under the Airside systems tab. If
you go to the drop down window once your in the spreadsheet
location...notice the last item in the drop down box says "ice rink". I
haven't been able to find these inputs through the "regular" windows of
eQuest, so look for the spreadsheet mode to find this tab for ice rink
parameters.

It's been that long since I've modeled an ice rink but I'm happy to try and
answer questions if I can. Maybe others out there have more current
experience with ice rinks.

Cheers,
Pasha

Hi All,

I'm having problem selecting "plaster finish" when defining ceiling construction. After I completed setting up the simulation, and click "finish" in the wizard, the error message would pop up and it seems like the ceiling is too thin. I noticed that the error will be gone if I change the selection to "Dry Wall". I also checked the floor to floor height and floor to ceiling height to make sure that I leave enough space for ceilings (60 cm difference between these two heights.) I wonder what I should change if I do want to select paster finish when defining ceiling construction? Any idea or comments will be appreciated. Thanks.

Regards,
Shirley

Thank you for sharing your ice rink example. Should one use the
3.61b, the Refrigeration version?

No--the refrigeration version doesn't get the job done for ice rinks. Only
for refrig systems (commercial).

Use the the full blown version of eQuest. Any maybe try opening it in 3.64
and see how the info pulls in and is translated to the newer version of the
program.

Good luck!

Hi all,

I can't find the thread or any model. Could you please provide a model that you have to check?

Can this be modeled in the latest version of eQUEST 3.65?
