VRV and Ventilated Double Skin Facade

Any suggestions on how to model a building that will have variable refrigerant volume (VRV/VRF) HVAC system type and ventilated double skin fa?ade. Trane Trace 700 and EnergyPro can model VRV. DesignBuilder/EnergyPlus, ESP-r, IDA-ICE, TRNSYS, IES and others can model ventilated double skin fa?ade.

I am trying to specify SEER 16 instead of SEER14 for apartment buildings,
and I heard from several mechanical engineers that this is impossible
without increasing the mechanical room size inside the apartments (for the
fan coil). Does anyone have any idea about this

Thank you in advance

FYI:

This all depends on the manufacturer and specifics of the unit, and/or resizing, etc.

I just had my Lennox evaporator replaced on a 5 ton unit...to prepare for a SEER upgrade and it fit into the same old cabinet, same number of rows of coils, but the new unit has a TXV valve, vs a cap tube. However, the higher SEER exterior condensor is MUCH bigger than the lower SEER unit, and can be a two speed or variable speed unit. Sometimes, I've been told, there can be fewer rows of coils in a higher SEER unit, which raises efficiency, but lowers moisture removal (not good in the south).

Thank you so much Professor Haberl. This is part of the TCAP fund project ( the recovery act). and we are trying to advice developers to install SEER 16 heat pump. SOme of their mechanical engineers arguing that SEER 16 cannot fit the fan coil in same mechanical space for SEER 14 that is already designed without redesigning the units
Thank you again
