Dear trnsys users,

I heard about a program for shading and insolation calculations, named
TRNSHD (see attached file).
This tool seems to be very useful, but I didn't find where I can download
it for assessing its relevance.

Is anybody can tell me if it's possible to test this tool and where I can
download or buy it ?

Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Fred.

Dear Fred,

TRNSHD originally was a standalone program. TRNSHD Version 1.0.182 is now implemented in TRNSYS Type 56 aka TRNBuild. If you open TRNBuild and click Generate > Generate Shading/Insolation Matrix (see screenshot), it will be executed.

Attached you can find an extraction of Type56 Documentation regarding TRNSHD.

Fred,
TRNSHD was a stand alone tool but its capabilities were built in to
Trnsys with the release of v17. I do not think that it was ever
commercially available. TRNSHD was the result of Marion HILLER's masters
thesis done at the Solar Energy Lab. You can download the thesis from:

kind regards,
David
