ee4/doe2.1e Temperature Setpoint Error

Hello,

I am working with a large model of a hospital which was created in ee4 for the doe2.1e engine. The model was created when the hospital was designed, and I am trying to modify it to better match the operating conditions of the hospital to identify energy saving opportunities. I want to set the temperature setpoints back to 53F, but when I do this, it causes the systems report to crash, and gives an error for all zones when the diagnostic comes up. If i run the doe file from the command line, it says that it is the systems report which causes the simulation to crash. The loads report generates with no problems. I have no idea how to solve this as Im not very familiar with the DOE engine.

So I have read some of the information about ee4 available, and the error seems to be caused by the chilled water entering temperature for the cooling coils must be 6F lower than the exiting cooled air. I have not yet figured out how to set the EWT for the cooling coils though.

Here is the solution I found.

1. ***ERROR*****************************************
In [name assigned to system element by EE4],
cooling coil leaving temperature must be at
least 6F higher than entering water temp.

This error is caused when the value assigned to the input
"Design Fan Power" on the System/Supply Fan tab in EE4 is
too large. The error is corrected by lowering the input value.
