Radiant Heating with DOAS in Trace700?

Hi All,

Can any one please suggest a way to model the following HVAC system in Trace700 for Annual Energy Analysis .

Central Plant :--- Biomass(wood Chips) boiler generating hot water.
System Description:--- Radiant Ceiling Heating Panels with central DOAS sys (AHU) with enthalpy wheel. No cooling.

The AHUs or the DOAS is one packaged unit with Hydronic Heating coil to precondition the air with Supply and return fans, VFDs, along with enthalpy wheel.

I am new to Trace Modeling, and did a lot of digging around, but couldn't find the system that could represent the actual system.

Thanks ,

Greetings Aditya,

As of TRACE 6.2.3, there is an active chilled beam system type available, though I have yet to test it out. Theoretically you could model a four-pipe active chilled beam and set the main and auxiliary cooling coil capacities to zero while inputting the desired heating capacities (see the help file). The DOAS is modeled via the 'dedicated OA' tab and under the 'options' tab there is location to select the enthalpy wheel. TRACE doesn't support biomass boilers but depending on what information you need you could approximate the behavior.

Hope this helps,
