Photo Voltaic, BEPU and LEED

1 post / 0 new

Hello eQUESTers,

I am modeling a data center for LEED. The misc equipment load in the BEPU
report shows up different values in the proposed and baseline model.

I have cross checked 100's of times and all EPD and corresponding schedules
match. Also the process loads for the equipment are the same in the LS-K
report for both models.

Digging through the DOE2,detailed simulation report tutorial I found that
BEPU includes energy generated by PV if the generators are hooked to the
same utility meter. I have PV modeled and hooked to EM1, which is the same
meter serving all other electric loads in the building. The tutorial also
says that the energy generated by PV is reported as a building use in the
PS-E report. I tried a trial removing all PV generators from the model. The
Result - Misc equip load in BEPU matches for proposed and baseline.

Does this mean that the energy generated from PV is reflected as a reduction
in process load in the BEPU? Also as LEED requires process loads to be same
in the baseline and proposed models, should PV be completely scarped off
from the model and results from PV Watts used instead?

Does anyone have any thoughts/experience with process load results and PV?

Thanks in advance,
