Dear building modelers,
We have one open position for a Postdoctoral Scholar within the Center for
the Built Environment
California Berkeley. The mission of the CBE is ?to improve the
environmental quality and energy efficiency of buildings by providing
timely, unbiased information on building technologies and design and
operation techniques?.
We are recruiting candidates to perform research within a project that
focuses on radiant systems. This 3-year, $3M project is funded by the
California Energy Commission through the EPIC program and is described here
with other project team members, the primary focus for this position is to
develop optimized control strategies for thermally massive radiant slab
systems, and to assess their performance through energy simulation,
full-scale laboratory experiments, and on-site demonstrations in three
field study buildings.
Strong candidates will have demonstrated expertise in three or more of the
following areas: (a) radiant systems; (b) building energy modeling (e.g.,
EnergyPlus or Modelica); (c) optimization; (d) controls related to the
building industry; (e) demonstrations in field study buildings; and (f)
statistical modeling / data analysis / Measurement & Verification
techniques.
