-nan Error

Hello once again,

What is the meaning of the "-nan" in the BEPS report? I started receiving these in certain columns after adding thermal storage to my model.

Thank you,

I believe it represents a value that is too large to be displayed in the table.

Well, sorry to skip from problem to problem, being under time pressure
makes you dizzy :)

Actually, I thought I had solved the "capacity" warning by adding thermal
storage. Indeed, the warnings disappeared after the addition of a thermal
storage that charges and discharges from the two-pipe primary loop. But
now, I get these -nan's in the reports.

I will definitely let you know when I solve it. Nobody here knows what
even -nan stands for? (not available something??)

Thanks,

Omer,

I believe this may be occurring because eQuest is trying to use equipment performance curves beyond their valid limits. Check for warnings in your sim file.

That is my understanding as well. I believe "nan" stands for "not a
number" -- but could be making that up. It usually means that your loop
flows or pressures are way out of range. Given that you are getting -nan
in both DHW and pumping, I would look first at your DHW loop.

Omer,

This error become due to the zero flow of any loop system. Please check flow
of your loops.

I hope this helps!

Thanks
