Modeling Gas Engine Heat Pump (GHP) in eQUEST Software

Hello,
Does anybody has idea how to model gas engine heat pump (GHP) in eQUEST software? There are two types of this GHP as below:

- Air to water GHP unit.?

- VRF GHP.

Please refer to the below link for more details about these GHPs. Thanking in advance for your help.

Hello Ahmad:

I'm not clear about your system. A quick look at the EQUEST manual does not show such a system in the index.

However, a general google search of such systems shows lots of options, for example, a gas fired furnace combined with a heat pump? Or possibly a nat gas fired engine driving a heat pump compressor.

The first system is easy to model. The second would be a challenge.

Hi Ahmad, Jeff,

I haven?t used it before, but it does look like you can use the GAS-HEAT-PUMP code-word as the HEAT-SOURCE for DX units to model a gas-engine-driven compressor (see below).

In the User Guide Volume 2 (dictionary), the Air-to-Air Heat Pump section should have more information about the associated keywords for the system:
