Per the LEED NC V3 requirements in order to qualify for IEQc2 the ventilation
in the breathing zone needs to be increased by 30%.
62.1-2007 defines the breathing zone as "the region within an occupied space
between planes 3 and 72" above the floor and more than 2' from the walls or
fixed air-conditioning equipment."
I do not understand what is meant by "planes 3".
Can anyone shed some light on this? Has anyone has success modeling a reduced
space volume in eQuest or is it easier to perform a manual calculation and
adjust the CFM of outside air per a weighted volume?
Thank you,
