LEED Compliance Analysis - Error evaluating BudgetConversion Rulelist

I'm having a problem running the LEED compliance analysis on my model.

Compliance Analysis Error: Error(s) encountered Evaluating BudgetConversion Rulelist...

Error encountered setting data to LAYERS components..

'901_NRes_EFlr_Layr' imported from library: BDL Symbol not found (DBID=190000020000) evaluating rule: Fetch NRes Floor layers
'901_Res_EFlr_Layr' imported from library: BDL Symbol not found (DBID=190000020000) evaluating rule: Fetch Res Floor layers
'901_SHtd_EFlr_Layr' imported from library: BDL Symbol not found (DBID=190000020000) evaluating rule: Fetch Semi-heated Floor layers

Is this something I can I can easily fix?

I saved a copy of the building model in equest prior to running the compliance analysis just in case I needed to go back and update anything in the original file.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm getting the same error.

I am wondering the same thing, I have this same error and am trying to figure out how to fix it. Anyone know what the fix is?

Hey guys.  I'm using version 3.65.  You guys having trouble - i'm assuming you're on the same version, correct?

Under detailed edit, Internal Loads, I went through all my conditioned spaces again to make sure there were no conflicts or issues.

I did see that some of my space occupancies were equal to the room volume, not the square footage.  I originally thought that was the problem so I fixed all that.

I then went into internal loads/spreadsheet view to make sure any unconditioned spaces were plenum spaces only.  They were.  I also made sure all my occupied spaces were "conditioned" because I heard that in previous versions of equest people had errors related to that (which makes sense).

I then ran my compliance analysis again but I got the same 3 errors...

The coding tells me that it has something to do with the floor layers

One possibility is that "DBID=190000020000" is missing from the DOE-2 database in the latest version of equest (3.65, build 7163).

If that one database entry is missing from "eQ_Lib.dat" that would explain why all the errors are associated with that one single database item.  eQ_Lib has to do with the DOE2 engine, I believe.

That or there is an issue with equest being able to reference that DBID from the database?

Can anyone else help shed light on this? Thanks!

When I got the error, it popped up with one of my spaces highlighted in shell #5 of my model.

In detailed edit, if you go under "building shell" module, expand your spaces and see if any of your Floor construction flags are gold, instead of red/maroon.

When I expand all of my spaces, noone of them have that gold flag EXCEPT for Shell #5.  All my floor layer construction layers on Shell #5 have that gold flag.

Apparently, the gold flag means that the floor for that space is modeled for underground walls (gold flag with UND letters in equest).

This is not how I intended to model the space but I think it is easily fixable a few different ways.

I'm going to address the issue of shell 5 showing underground walls for floor system type and try to run the LEED compliance analysis again.

This may help others with the same issue!

If all else fails, I could also go back to the design development wizard and re-check floor constructions.  I'm 99% sure that was the cause of this issue.  My original model had alot of issues so I had to go back to DD wizard.  But I forgot to check my floor constructions when I did so.

If you do this, keep in mind that after edits in the DD wizard mode you would have to revisit detailed edit to check your occupancy areas and all your green compliance inputs over again to make sure everything jives (because obviously going from detailed edit back to DD wizard removes certain detail edit inputs).

So I went back in to DD wizard.

I changed shell 5 to show 4" slab with ground contact in the wizard.

But in detail edit, despite making the changes, my shell 5 floor still shows and underground wall (gold flag with 'und' lettering for all shell 5 floors).

My Shell 5 has 4 zones but all the spaces have the same gold flag.

Shells 1-4 look fine with no issues.

I'm gonna try to dig deeper into this tomorrow.  This must have something to do with how the floor layering is set up in detail edit.

My plan is to try and address the layering for shell 5 floors and if that doesn't work I'm going to try and completely re-model shell 5 in DD wizard from scratch so there aren't any floor layering anomalies in detail edit.

I'll let you know how it goes!

Apparently, shell 5 inherited the incorrect floor construction type and layering and I'm not sure exactly how or when it happened.  But it should be fixable.

I uninstalled the current version of equest, reinstalled the previous build (equest 3.65, build 7154) and the compliance analysis completed, 100%, with no errors.

Before I did so,  however, I tweaked the floor settings for shell 5 and was able to rule out slab with direct ground contact as the problem.  At first I thought that was the cause but it isn't.

My only other floor type (for the other 4 shells) was "over unconditioned space" so maybe in the most current version of equest that causes errors when you try to run compliance analysis.

Anyway, thanks Christopher for your input.  Worked great.

Good luck to others out there running the latest version of equest 3.65.  Hope this helps.

Hey,

I found the older version that Chris recommended here: http://doe2.com/download/equest/

Cheers
