The University of Lisbon is seeking a highly motivated scientist to work
in the area of energy efficiency, lighting or renewable energy
integration in buildings within the SESUL / IDL research group.

The Centre for Sustainable Energy Systems of the University of Lisbon
(SESUL) is a new research unit, made of researchers from physics and
engineering background, with long-term international competitiveness in
the specific fields of photovoltaic and buildings energetic. It strives
for strong connections both with professionally active companies and
academic institutions, as well as for high-quality teaching within an
MSc and PhD program in its areas of competence.

It closely cooperates with the Associate Laboratory Instituto Dom Luiz
(IDL), a research unit funded by the Portuguese Science Foundation
devoted to earth and atmospheric sciences, which opens up this vacancy
along with 5 other positions in related areas

The applicants are expected to be able to contribute to one or more
areas of interest in current SESUL / IDL research, specifically in
building energetic (energy efficiency, lighting, renewable energy
integration) or related areas.

Candidates are expected to conduct independent research, to obtain
external competitive funding and to lecture and supervise students on
these subjects.

Candidates must have a PhD in physics, engineering, or other closely
related field, and a relevant CV in above defined research areas. They
should have a minimum of 3 years postdoctoral research experience,
although duly justified exceptions may also be considered. Candidates
should be fluent in English, although some knowledge of the Portuguese
language may be considered an advantage.
