gbXML

Has anyone done any work with a gbXML files? I have read about them and how the files are compatible with eQuest, but cannot find any place that eQuest allows you to import these files.

It is my understanding that if you were to export a Revit file to gbXML and import that to eQuest and that would create your model. Does anyone know how exactly this works?

Kevin,

You need to use Autodesk's Green Building Studio - an online tool that
runs the eQUEST simulation on the web. It allows you to export an inp
file.

Hello All,

What is the best way to find out what is wrong with the compliance
analysis? My building runs ok with the initial BDL check and also runs
ok on the preliminary analysis check, but on the Permit Submittal, it
runs till Proposed building and then simply bombs out saying "An invalid
error".

So I am trying to fix one thing at a time and no success yet after days
of struggle. Could anyone please let me know if there is a way to find
some error log or something that would tell me what is wrong with the
model?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Both Ecotect and Green Building Studio support importing of GBXML and contain output files compatible with eQuest and EnergyPlus.

I created this tutorial which outlines the steps to go from Revit->GBXML->E+. the steps for eQuest are very similar.

Currently there are no direct and dynamic links.

Both Ecotect and GBS allow exporting geometry and constructions to E+
and eQuest compatible formats. So you could go from Revit to either of
those packages.

An example tutorial can be found here.
