Call for Papers
9th International Conference for
Enhanced Building Operations
November 17-18 Austin, Texas

The staff of the International Conference for Enhanced Building Operations (ICEBO) invites you to submit an abstract for acceptance. The conference will be held November 17-18, 2009 in Austin, Texas at the new AT&T Conference Center, a LEEDs-certified building. The conference is hosted by the Energy Systems Laboratory located at Texas A&M University, College Station and co-hosted by Austin Energy.

The conference brings together an international group of practitioners and researchers who routinely improve the health and comfort and minimize the energy consumption, operating costs, and environmental impacts of buildings. ICEBO 2009 is the leading forum for timely exchanges among individuals interested in the continuous improvement and maintenance of buildings, their energy usage and environmental impact.

We invite you to submit your best, creative projects on the following topics:

* Worldwide best practices in commissioning, retro-commissioning, and Continuous Commissioning(r) new and existing buildings
* Mission-critical facilities (hospitals, data centers, central utility plants, etc.) operation optimization for best performance and maximum energy savings
* Improved building automation, controls, and sensor accuracy
* Commissioning for Energy Star and LEED(r) (NC and EB) certifications
* Achieving sustainability, saving energy, and improving occupant comfort
* Planning and designing intelligent buildings
* Successful utility programs for shaving peak demand from load-side HVAC management and thermal storage
* On-site renewable energy applications (wind, solar, fuel cell, etc.)
* Measuring and verifying performance of building improvements
* Success stories of combined heat and power (CHP) and distributed generation (DG)
* New federal and state building energy efficiency initiatives
* International markets and collaboration for improving building performance
