Engineered Solutions, Inc. (ESI) is looking for experienced Energy Engineer to perform Whole-Building Energy Modeling
Engineered Solutions, Inc. (ESI), established in 1988, is a dynamic MEP/FP consulting firm with high-profile clients in the greater Boston area. We are conveniently located in the Boston suburb of Natick. We provide high level engineering services such as technical energy analysis and audits, mechanical systems infrastructure evaluation and re-design, central chiller and boiler plant design, and building automation system design to a variety of clients including hospitals, high-rise office buildings, telecommunication facilities, educational institutions, museums, manufacturing facilities, and laboratories.
The Energy Engineer will play a key role in implementing energy efficiency programs, conducting energy audits, developing energy audit reports, calculating energy savings potential of measures, writing technical reports, and supporting other efforts to assist commercial customers invest in energy efficiency improvements.
The candidate will perform whole-building energy analysis to support systems optimization, LEED certification, energy code compliance and compliance with energy efficiency incentive programs for large commercial buildings in the region. The primary focus of this position is whole-building energy modeling under ASHRAE 90.1 Energy Cost Budget and Performance Rating Method protocols. There will be opportunities to work on cross-team projects involving every aspect of energy efficiency, spanning all energy end uses in commercial buildings.
Job Functions:
* Work as part of a team to identify energy efficiency project opportunities in commercial buildings that will to assist customers make investment decisions,
* Provide technical assistance and guidance on energy efficient technologies and practices to our clients,
* Analyze building and energy conservation measure performance utilizing eQuest and spreadsheets.
* Develop and/or review technical reports, engineering calculations and cost estimates for energy efficiency projects,
* Commission existing and new HVAC systems,
* Communicate with team members, other disciplines and outside vendors to obtain necessary information for analysis,
* Conduct field work to assist in the data collection and/or field verification, and
* Work in conjunction with Sr. Engineers and Principals in the completion of analysis projects.
Requirements:
* A strong interest in Building Infrastructure & Energy Conservation and HVAC Engineering,
* Proficiency with eQuest, spreadsheet analysis and utility custom energy analysis,
* 3+ years of relevant HVAC Engineering experience,
* A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering,
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a part of a team,
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook,
* General working knowledge of building mechanical systems,
* EIT certification preferred and
* The ability to travel locally for field work at client sites.
