I have a question regarding "Roof Surfaces" on sheet 3 of the DD Wizard - particularly the fields "Exterior Insulation" and "additional Insulation".
Our roof buildup is as follows..
2" standing seam aluminum panels (blue/medium)
Carlisle WIP 401LT self adhering roof underlayment
?" CDX Plywood
8.5" EPS Insulation with Z-purlins @ 48" o.c.
Carlisle WIP 401LT self adhering roof underlayment
5/8" densdeck roof board
2x4 sleepers @ 24 o.c. (3.5" EPS insulation in between that)
Structural steel @ 24 o.c. minimum supporting above
The max exterior insulation I can select is 6 in. (R-42). Is it acceptable to select that (the max allowed) and then add additional insulation to approximate the system based on the final overall R-value?
(I would basically do this for each individual shell in the DD wizard, sheet 3).
Thank you!
