Please join us for the IBPSA-USA DC Chapter meetup on October 15th at
Baumann Consulting! This time we will have presentations given by Amir
Roth, Dru Crawley, and Roger Chang. The topic of presentations includes
grid interactive building, road map, BIM to BEM, and process energy
index. Come out for an evening of networking with the local building
performance simulation experts, share your distinctive ideas about the EM
industry, and get some exercise by playing the ping-pong game afterward.

If you would like to attend, *RSVP through the Eventbrite link below: *

*About the Speakers:*

*Amir Roth*, Ph.D. ? Technology manager at US Department of Energy

Amir Roth is the Technical Manager for building energy modeling (BEM) tools
in the DOE?s Building Technologies Program (BTP). BEM is used in building
design and in the development of building energy efficiency codes and
ratings, and increasingly in code compliance, building certification,
building diagnostics and fault detection, building control system
development, and dynamic building control. Among the projects, Amir manages
EnergyPlus, DOE?s industry-leading whole building energy modeling engine,
and OpenStudio, DOE?s BEM productivity, interoperability, and utility
middleware.

*Dru Crawley*, Ph.D. - Bentley Fellow/ Director, Building Performance
Research at Bentley Systems

Dr. Crawley is Bentley Fellow and Director, Building Performance Research,
thought leader focusing on building performance, BIM, zero-energy
buildings, interoperability, smart cities, and sustainability. He is also
an ASHRAE Fellow and an IBPSA Fellow. Before joining Bentley in 2010, Dr.
Crawley developed, launched and managed USDOE?s Commercial Building
Initiative (zero-energy commercial buildings (now Better Buildings)). He
also managed DOE?s building energy software research and development
including EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, Energy-10, and DOE-2.

*Roger Chang*, PE, LEED Fellow - Engineering Leader at DLR Group

Roger Change serves as a firmwide mechanical engineering discipline leader
and DC office engineering leader at DLR Group. He is passionate about
integrated design and high-performance buildings. His research experience
includes work at NIST, collaboration with the Harvard School of Public
Health, and natural ventilation work on the first LEED Platinum building in
the world, the Philip Merrill Environmental Center. He has experienced LEED
from its infancy to what it has become today and regularly speaks at
conferences on integrated design and high-performance buildings.

*Who is IBPSA?*

International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA) is
a non-profit, international society of building performance simulation
researchers, developers, and practitioners, dedicated to improving the
built environment.

*What does IBPSA seek to do?*

Advance and promote the science of building simulation in order to improve
the health of occupants, and the design, construction, operation, and
maintenance of new and existing buildings.
