Hi All,
I was checking a Comcheck compliance sheet for a project and the project was meeting compliance for ASHRAE 90.1-2010 using 60% WWR. I was really surprised by this and ran Comcheck myself (version 4.0.5.5) and found that I could get the envelope to pass with any amount of glazing as long as the total envelope UA was below the budget UA - regardless of glazing area.
I tried to see if I could do the same thing with IECC 2012 and it gave me an error but the program popped up a screen that told me to use ASHRAE 90.1-2010 because it does not have a max WWR limitation. See screenshots 1 & 2.
Is this really true? I was under the impression that we have to go with a performance route if the glazing exceeds 40% WWR? But that does not seem to be the case.
Appreciate the groups thoughts, thanks
Madhav
