Request for IBPSA-USA Board of Directors Nominations for January, 2013 Elections

IBPSA-USA's current Board of Directors is looking to compile a diverse slate of candidates from a variety of backgrounds to support the following areas of IBPSA-USA activities:
1. Virtual Library and Publishing (ex. SimBuild)
2. Networking Information and Exchange (ex. website, business meetings, newsletter, certain electronic publications)
3. Scholarship and Student Development
4. Education: Practitioners and Institutions (ex. SimBuild and BEM Workshop)
5. Research & Development
6. Standards Development
7. Alliance Building
- Internal (with IBPSA World and regional chapters)
- External (with professional organization and institutions)
The Board members may have backgrounds including but not limited to energy, lighting and daylighting simulation; software and simulation computer language development; academic research; consulting; non-profit fundraising and grant writing; legal, financial, or educational; and building performance policy development. Specifically the current Board has identified the need for board members who have the ability to fundraise and have legal background. Positions for nomination are president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, member-at-large, and general members.
You may petition the Nomination Committee to become a nominee or nominate a person who will bring professional strength and experience in the areas mentioned above. The term of office is two years beginning in February, 2013. Each petition to the IBPSA-USA Board for nomination will include a five sentence statement of purpose and one page resume from the candidate (pdf format only please). These will be posted on the IBPSA-USA website for review by voting members. The elections will take place on January 26, 2013 in Dallas (location of ASHRAE?s Winter Conference) at the Annual Business Meeting of IBPSA-USA.

Also please note that the IBPSA-USA membership drive for becoming a voting
member is currently underway. The deadline for signing up is January 16, 2013. Go to http://ibpsausa.wildapricot.org/ for registration and payment of newly established dues ($90 general members; $20 student members) that will contribute to operational costs of the organization.
