Boiler serving Space HTG & DHW

Hey eQuest users - I know this has been asked before and I have read some threads but didn't find anything definitive.

So I have a set of boilers that serve two secondary loops - one for space heating and another for DHW.

I've read some info on adding the DHW load as a process load to the boiler but I am unsure of how to determine the DHW load and flow.

Any suggestions on how to model this?

Thanks!

If I understand correctly, you are asking how to size a DHW loop. I believe the ASHRAE HVAC Systems manual has a sizing guide in it. Also check out AO Smith boilers for some design guidelines. As I recall, AO Smith sized hotels, apartments, dormitories, and restaurants.
