Hi all,
I'm looking for guidance on which number to use for my baseline OA when compared to the proposed system.
The proposed HVAC system is DOAS - FCUs. OA requirements according to ASHRAE 62.1 are 10,216 cfm. However, to satisfy exhaust requirements, the total system ventilation, i.e. OA as it's a DOAS, is 13,160 cfm.
Does the baseline OA need to equal 10,216 or 13,160 cfm?
Thanks

In my opinion, the baseline case OA should be equal to the proposed OA. OA required by 62.1 is only a basis for reference.

Hi Donal,
As OA in the proposed model must equal the OA in the baseline model so you
have to use 13,160 CFM (better energy saving chance on the proposed than
10,216 CFM).
There are more details on Example 6-III "Calculation of Fan Power Energy,
Floor-by-Floor System" at ASHRAE 90.1-2007 User's Manual
