If you had done this 4 years ago, you’d be a multi-millionaire.. and you'd be warm.
I was running electric heat in my office to help stay warm. So instead, I turned my desktop into a 200 watt space heater that makes over $2 per day and keeps my office 2 degrees warmer than my space heater.
All you need is a computer. This can be scaled up in an office. An office could make hundreds or thousands of dollars each night and get free heat.
By now you have probably heard of Bitcoin, even though you may not know what it is. It’s just a new currency (among many others). It’s worth a lot of money. If you need heat, it’s a double bonus. Also, it went up in value by 15x since last year. So, if you were making $2/day last year for 100 days, you’d have least $6000 but as much as $100,000. You can also just take the cash.
You can get setup in about 10 minutes! First, just test it. This is all you need:
Most of you will probably use Minergate.
Select the box to run the miner after benchmark
If you use the NVIDIA version, the steps are the same but the screen is much simpler.
Note, this is my address, it will save you a lot of time to test this before creating your account. I might make a few pennies, which I appreciate as a tip, but it’s better to test it first since getting your own BTC address (and knowing how to use it take a bit longer).
Run the test for an hour or so to see what you can make per day (it’s not really accurate until you run it for an hour, or actually 1 day).
After you run it for a while, you can determine your profitability.
HOW to calculate your profit.
I have a Nvidia 1070 and here is my current rate. You can get the most bang for your buck with a Radeon Rx 580. (note these are all affiliate links, but I do own, operate and recommend all of these products)
I prefer a Kill-a-watt meter. Here it is using 177 watts.
At $2.61 per day, it consumes up 170-220 watts (which is why it works as a space heater).
My profit is $2.61 - .220 KW*24 hours*$0.10 kw-hr = $2.19 plus the free heat
Since I was running a space heater anyway, you could say that it is a profit of $2.61 per day.
If you determine that it is worth it for you to run the miner, then create an account at Nicehash and update your settings. Alternatively, a company may want to create an account and run this on every computer in the building during nighttime hours (Nicehash can be scheduled to operate only when the computer is idle).
Keep checking this blog to learn the more of the details. You can mine a number of other currencies, but it can get overly complicated. We can teach you how to make it simple
This will be a massive innovation to HVAC. And the more people that do this, the higher the price of BTC will go - so you should get in as soon as possible.
