Our 2-Day VE training will take place on October 3-4, 2016.
We will teach you simulation techniques and methods to enable more sustainable design practices using the enhanced features of our latest release of the Virtual Environment. IES is a registered GBCI Education Provider.
Each day is fully interactive allowing you to bring up your questions and concerns to our experts and get the answers you need to be successful on your projects.
What will the course cover?
Day 1: IESVE Fundamentals for LEEDv4: Daylight (IEQ), Integrative Process (IP), Energy Modeling (EA)
This workshop will use IESVE for Engineers software to model specific requirement of LEEDv4:

* Daylight Modeling or LEEDv4 (2 Options)
* ASHRAE 90.1-2010 baseline automation
* 90.1-2010 baseline building geometry and envelope automation
* 90.1 internal gains (lighting, plug loads, occupancy)
* 90.1 baseline HVAC systems and sizing
* Reports: Proposed vs Baseline annual energy consumption and cost
Day 2: Advanced HVAC (EA), Thermal Comfort (IEQ) and LEED/GBCI submittals
This workshop will focus on integrating Advanced HVAC systems for building energy optimization; with integrated ventilation and thermal comfort requirements. Highlights will include:
* Whole building energy analysis with integrated advanced HVAC systems
* Renewable Energy Simulation
* Unmet load-hours
* ASHRAE 62.1 and 170 - minimum ventilation requirements and model settings
* Natural Ventilation Simulation for Energy Modeling
* ASHRAE 55 - Thermal Comfort calculations for IEQ 7.1
* CFD Airflow Simulation for Thermal Comfort
* Best practices for documenting results from IES VE for submittal to GBCI for review
* Participants will receive sample reports and documentation for submittal to GBCI
