Lesson 1.1 - 1.3 provides a quick review on the fundamental properties necessary to understand the principles of psychrometrics. These properties include mass, force, weight, density, specific volume, pressure, enthalpy, sensible and latent heat, and the basic properties of moist air. Lesson 1 concludes with an introduction to the Psychrometric Chart and it’s lines of constant properties.

Lesson 2.1 - 2.3 covers air conditioning processes on a psychrometric chart, the air mixing process, and concludes with a number of sample problems using the psychrometric chart .

Suzanne Marinello is an experienced instructor with a B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo (CalPoly-SLO). From 2009-2012 she was a faculty member for the Northwest Energy Education Institute located on the Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon. Courses taught included Commercial HVAC, Energy Management for Commercial Facilities, Alternative Energy Systems. She also conducted full day seminars on HVAC for students in the Energy Management Certification program held on the University of Oregon campus, and as part of the NWEEi.

Her teaching experience is complemented with real world modeling knowhow. A licensed Professional Engineer (Mechanical) in Oregon and Washington, she worked for 20 years as a consultant providing HVAC design for commercial, institutional and industrial applications. Currently she works for CH2MHill as an Energy Modeling Lead providing energy modeling services for design support and LEED Analysis.
