Version 3.64 crashes

So....I and others in my office have experienced so many crashes with
the new eQuest version that I am going back to 3.63, which was pretty
reliably stable. I think all of the compliance information is also
slowing down editing in the detailed mode quite a bit. Scott/
developers out there, let me and all of us eQuest users know what we can
do to help resolve any of this stuff? I'd really like to be able to
take advantage of new features, but it's been frustrating using the new
release.

Aleka-

We've run into similar problems when using eQuest on a 64 bit machine so I've been using an older 32-bit machine. The fix we've found is only for Windows 7, maybe there is also something equievalent for XP or Vista.

Fix for Windows 7; Close out of eQuest. No place your mouse pointer over the file you wish to open and right-click. You should see an option to resolve compatibility issues or something like that. not sure if there's something similar for XP or Vista, but if there is it's not in the form of right-clicking the file.

Aleka/Shane,

I have used it without any problem at all. I wonder if your problems are
because you are on a network? I allowed it to install where it wanted to,
i.e. I used the defaults, and voila, it's fine. Do you have a non networked
computer you could try?

Good luck,

Carol

Not on a network. It works fine usually, but I've just had too many
crashes and lost a good deal of time.

Where I have found 3.64 crashes is on the custom naming screens. It
"seems" to handle a few names OK but crashes on a bunch of custom names
-- which is unfortunate as I really like that feature. Going back to
default space/zone naming recovered one crashing file.
