Representing the Effect of A Centralized Heat Plant On The Energy In A Building?

To Whom It May Concern,

I apologize for bothering you. I am a relatively new EQuest user and I am attempting to model a 3 story facility in the middle of Ohio which recieves steam from a coal burning centralized heat plant. Does anyone have any idea how I could do this in Equest? Maybe a steam driven boiler? I am just looking for suggestions on how to include that energy into my model.

Thanks!

Joe

You can actually set the fuel type to steam in the detailed mode. However, I wouldn't bother if you are a new eQUEST user.

Instead, in the wizard (either schematic design or design development), set the boiler efficiency and set the $/therm to the cost "per therm of steam" (a therm is a therm right?). There really isn't any difference to equest whether your heat source is gas or steam, or wood for that matter.
