Dear All,
On a large warehouse (shipping & distribution center) project, we're told
by our consultant that the 650,000 square feet warehouse component is being
designed to be ventilated (OA) at 0.06 cfm/sf. There are small portions
with multiple levels, total ventilation CFM ends up being close to 60,000.
(we're told by our consultant that this is the code minimum). CO2 sensors
are being planned to bring the OA levels down, not yet sure what the
thresholds are.
The office component that is a tenth in square footage but roughly equal
occupancy as the warehouse, results in around 15,000 CFM ventilation.
While we generally trust our consultant's professional judgement, the
design team is concerned that the warehouse ventilation might be over
designed. Is anyone aware of workarounds that meet code but effectively
optimize the ventilation/OA rates in such large warehouse settings?
Thank you,
Ramana Koti.
