USGBC launches ADVANCED ENERGY MODELING FOR LEED,

Technical Manual.

USGBC has developed the Advanced Energy Modeling for LEED, Technical Manual to guide the project teams and LEED reviewers on requirements and documentation for Whole Building Energy Simulation to Optimize Energy Performance of the building. The objective is to provide further information on EA Credit 1, streamline the LEED documentation process, and provide a greater degree of consistency for both LEED applications and reviewer comments. This manual should be considered a guiding document on EA Credit 1 requirements. The intended users of this manual are both LEED reviewers and applicants with intermediate or advanced understanding of energy modeling, referenced standards, and energy codes. This edition is primarily applicable to LEED for New Construction & Major Renovations v2.2,LEED Core & Shell v2.0 and LEED for Schools and can be adapted to apply to LEED Building Design and Construction 2009. The Manual includes chapters containing overview of references standards, key simulation outputs, submittal and documentation checklist, summary of applicable CIRs, verification of proposed savings, simulation input-output consistency, sample exceptional calculation methodologies accepted by USGBC including natural ventilation and many others. A book preview is available. Please visit USGBC website for more information.
