Survey on model setup and data management in building simulation

1 post / 0 new

Dear (practicing) colleagues,

It would be wonderful if you decided to participate in a brief online survey on current practices for model setup and data management in building energy simulation. The survey is administered by the Sustainable Design Lab at MIT and the results will support an ongoing research project on building simulation assumptions used in practice, focusing specifically on material and construction properties, usage schedules, and building systems. Focus participants are practicing building energy modelers within architecture, engineering or sustainability consultancy firms, working at any design stage or capacity including schematic design, load calculations and complete compliance documentation.
If you fall into any of these categories, we would like you to fill out an online questionnaire about your day-to-day energy modeling practice. The questionnaire consists of 9 to 12 questions and should take no longer than 5 to 7 minutes to complete. Please respond to all questions as openly and honestly as possible. There is no right or wrong answer; it is only your opinions that are important. All of the information that we obtain from you through this survey will be kept confidential and your participation in this research is voluntary. Should you decide to participate in the survey, you still reserve the right to end your participation at any time and for any reason, without prejudice.
If you are interested in participating in this survey, please go to: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MITsimdatasurvey
Should you have any questions or suggestions, please contact Carlos Cerezo Davila at ccerezod at mit.edu.
Thank you for your consideration,
Christoph and Carlos
