I have been charged with the development of a LEED energy model for a refrigerated warehouse. The design utilizes a central plant refrigeration system. The refrigeration and miscellaneous equipment may account for over 85% of the annual energy consumption. According to ASHRAE, this is all classified and process energy.
How can credit be realized for improved envelope and energy-efficient mechanical systems? ASHRAE has no equivalent baseline systems. Must exceptional calculation methods be used?
Thanks in advance!
