I have been charged with the development of a LEED energy model for a refrigerated warehouse. The design utilizes a central plant refrigeration system. The refrigeration and miscellaneous equipment may account for over 85% of the annual energy consumption. According to ASHRAE, this is all classified and process energy.

Assuming this system can be simulated, using the eQuest refrigeration package, how can credit be realized for improved envelope and energy-efficient mechanical systems? ASHRAE has no equivalent baseline systems. Must exceptional calculation methods be used?
