question about performance curves

In ASHREA, the part load performance of chiller is described by IPLV or NPLV.But in equest, it seems that the part load performance of chiller is described by performance curves. How do I edit the performance curves so that IPLV or NPLV prescribed in ASHREA are reflected in equest.

Hi wanglin,

In eQuest to simulate the hourly performance of chillers 3 curves are used for calculation. You can find the different explanation by the paper ?Tools and Techniques to calibrate Electric chiller component models? in ASHRAE TRANSACTIONS( Also you could find the same material on WWW.ENERGYDESIGNRESOURCE.COM)
The NPLV in defined when the chiller operating mode/the curve is in ARI 550 Rated condition. You can get enough testing data from manufacturers to make your curve.
Also it will be a risk if you change the curve without suitable testing data.
At last it is a safe way to use default curve to model an ASHRAE baseline because the default IPLV is a little higher than minimum requirement by ASHRAE 90.1-2007.
